Hi, you should not have a problem. If mumps is caught in the first 12-16 weeks of pregnancy there is an increased risk of miscarriage but not at 7 months. The mumps virus is not thought to cause any malformation in a developing baby.
Mumps is an airborne virus, so passed on by coughing, sneezing etc, it will not live on the packaging of your cards and pressies so go ahead and enjoy. Have a wonderful Christmas

No you won't catch mumps from the packaging but may do from your mother if she is a carrier of the illness. Phone NHS24 for advice if you live in the uk.

My sister is an MD. She said that as long as your mum is not fevering, the mumps can not be spread to you or your children. The mumps can not be spread by touching a package she touched, etc.

You are safe as long as mum is not running a fever.

You should call a local clinic or hospital and ask that question.
The doctor will be able to advise you. NOT yahoo answers who are NOT qualified.
