Your lungs force you to breathe to get rid of Carbon Dioxide.
Contrary to what most people think, we DO NOT breathe to get oxygen, luckily for us, that just happens as a side effect when we get rid of the CO2.
That is why it is easy to get asphyxiation when you breathe in other gasses. Since your body converts the oxygen to Carbon Dioxide, then the lungs want to get that CO2 out. When you breathe in a different type of gas, there is no CO2 to get rid of, so your lungs don't realize you're not getting the oxygen you need.

You find it annoying just when you're aware... because it's an involuntary act that happens without you having to "check" every step. We have to breathe to bring oxygen to our cells and get the dioxide carbon out. It's the way it works.

I don't even notice myself breathing. It's weird that you do.
Oxygen is simply a form of energy for the body. As soon as oxygen enters your bloodstream, a protein molecule called hemoglobin picks it up. Each molecule of hemoglobin can transport four molecules of oxygen.
Oxygen is then transported to the cells, where another protein, cytochrome C oxidase, turns the molecules of oxygen into molecules of water.
This is the energy that fuels our cells and keeps them living.

We breathe in order to deliever oxygen to our body, using our lungs to exchange "old" oxygen for fresh oxygen into our blood and the heart pumps the blood all over our body, delievering the oxygen everywhere. Your brain, in itself, cannot survive without oxygen, as when you are swimming, you MUST come up for air or you drown or if you've been under for too long, and are revived, you could still have brain damage, from too little oxygen for too long....mhmm. I hope this helped! It may be annoying but its necessary! :)

breathing is part of a process called "cellular respiration"....
our body takes in the oxygen molecules from the air...
from this, the body converts the oxygen into a simple suger called a "carbohydrate"......
the carbohydrate enters the heart where it is circulated throughout the body....
the carbohydrate then in turn is absorbed into the cells, this is a process called cellular diffusion.....
the carbohydrates are then tranfered to the mitochondria by the endoplasmic reticulum......
the mitochondria convert the carbohydrates into energy, which is then spread through the body...which enables us to live.....
(man, my brain hurts now)
anyway...that is why we have to breathe....if we don't breathe, then our body cannot function due to lack of energy......
if our body cannot function...we die...

Um, as annoying as it may be to you, it is necessary!!! Your blood needs oxygen to make your organs function. Sorry, you are just going to have to keep breathing.

If you stop thinking about breathing, you won't feel it anymore...it comes natural...in order to live, we must breathe...try to keep your mind busy doing your favorite things and you won't feel that breathing is hard to do...I suppose...Merry Christmas to you!!!

We need oxygen for our cells, oxygen is necessary to have functioning cells, otherwise blocking oxygen results in death from cells not functioning.
