New age simply stated means that we are entering a time of greater enlightenment and understanding. it means we will begin to put our "old" religions in perspective and open up to new realities.

The first age, the Aeon of Isis, named after the goddess Isis, was a polytheistic age, which psychologically emphasized all the benefits of a nurturing mother cult. The 2nd age, the Aeon of Osiris, named after the resurecting egyptian god Osiris, emphasized the death and rebirth of the sun every day, and how this relates to our own selves in Christ, we die and are reborn. We now enter the New Age, the aeon of Horus, the son of Isis and Osiris. So far, in the New Age, we've seen a rebirth of Isis type polytheism in Wicca, Neopaganism, and we've seen new Osiris type religions grow up... Mormonism, etc. I tend to think just as the Son is a combination of the Mother and the Father, the New Age (which will rule the world for about 2000 years just like Osiris/Christianity did) will be a molding of the two, but with the addition of things learned by the son.... the laws of science, the goals of art, etc.

You could say that the new age has always been with us. Its based on philosophy. The new age calls for a different definition of words. Such as when Pilot asked Jesus, what is truth? You could say that new age contradicts things that are written in stone and places a question mark in front of it. The new age says that all roads lead to heaven. Jesus said, the only way to the father is through me. The new age says that there are no absolutes. Such as truth. But if that were the case then that statement is an oxymoron. Sinse the statement, "the are no absolutes" is presented as an absolute in itself. The new age says that everyone is God. We just haven't realised it yet.

New Age is a general movement wanting to get to the 'truth' about things. Christians can be of new age thought too ... such as believing that Jesus taught reincarnation, of which fragments are still present in the Bible, but most were taken out long ago. I tend to think it paints too rosy a picture - like with the afterlife, in which you are reunited with past loved ones - that the spirit world is a world of thought, therefore what you think, you can create there.
But somewhere in all this, is some truth.
I would go to www.figu.org (English Discussion Forum) use the search engine there, to find what is of interest to you there....
Note - New Age is not about witchcraft and such black magic, etc etc. The occult is part of it - ie. hidden knowledge. About what ghosts really are...

New Age? It's just a slogan somebody made up to sell books.

Unfortunately it stands for a movement away from God. New Age is commonly associated with the occult, mysticism, witchcraft and astrology. It is against God and no Christian has any business in New Ageism .

It's a zodiacal thing, back in the sixties and seventies, we entered 'The Age of Aquarius'. And got a godawful song about it.
