Well we would have had to figure another reason to get involved in the war... The president wanted to get in and it is now well documented that he knew of the attack and let it happen to get the people behind him in going to war.
Kind of like 9/11.

We would have nuked Germany instead. With the new technology, the US would have had to show it's might one way or another; especially to Russia which is what Truman intended it for. As of now, how it would pan out to the future, well, I think we would have bo-lateral ties with China against Japan. Possibly. I'm sure Japan's expansionism would irritate Australia and New Zealand at some point if they didn't get nuked. Probably by late 40s we would go in their anyway and cap them off. Not to say that Indonesia and SE Asia was no importance to us but the territorialness of the time would have made all western nations move if there was an attack on Australia.
I worked in Japan for two years, two years ago, and found it disturbing how they thought Pearl Harbor was justified. They really are miseducated in their history books due to it being altered by the Ministry of Education. I concur with Beijing on this point. Most Japanese think we nuked them because we are "cowboys" and just want to kill. It is sad they do not know how disturbed Hirohito and his regiment were during this time. They committed acts more degrading than the Nazis did. They tend to see us as violent imperialist when they themselves were. Their own government has not allowed their citizenery to understand our efforts of Democracy. They even think McDonalds is theirs. The younger generations just don't know that all the crap the enjoy now are direct products of the US. They think they invented it! Absurd! China pleas that this is their ignorance; and while I don't condone the Chinese Government either, they have a point.
Asides from possible different realities; in the now, Japan is ready to start spending the money we allowed them to have on funding their own military. I'm sick of the expenditures we front them and want them to take it on themselves. They would if they knew the truth. They would promote democracy better in the region if they "knew" but they don't and this is what keeps them at bay. Bastards.
Happy Holidays!

Before Pearl Harbor was hit, the U.S. had placed an embargo on Made in Japan items and started propaganda about the Japanese. Therefore, I believe we would have eventually invaded Japan, but not used the Atomic Bomb.

There would be a possibility that the one and only useful intervention by the USA into international affairs would not have taken place and that the Nazi/Japanese axis of world domination would have succeeded. This does not excuse the subsequent inappropriate interventions by the USA which were based on the need to preserve Capitalism in general and the petrodollar in particular.

I think we would have been disgusted enough with Hitler's pillaging of Europe and jumped in. If he had taken all of Europe, he would have been a big threat to the US. We would have been his next target I think. Did you know Pearl Harbor was not a surprise attack?
"...everything that the Japanese were planning to do was known to the United States..." ARMY BOARD, 1944
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
President Roosevelt (FDR) provoked the attack, knew about it in advance and covered up his failure to warn the Hawaiian commanders. FDR needed the attack to sucker Hitler to declare war, since the public and Congress were overwhelmingly against entering the war in Europe. It was his backdoor to war.
FDR blinded the commanders at Pearl Harbor and set them up by -
denying intelligence to Hawaii (HI)
on Nov 27, misleading the commanders into thinking negotiations with Japan were continuing to prevent them from realizing the war was on
having false information sent to HI about the location of the Japanese carrier fleet.

Edit: Jennifer, I liked your answer and was all set to "thumb it up" until you called them bastards! It's Christmas ffs! LMAO, and like you said, they're lied to by their government just like we are. I know you're probably calling the Japanese government bastards, but they've been basically a colony. Should we blame the puppet or the puppetteer?

We never would have rescued the Jews from the camps, because the U.S. (a country of immigrants) was too selfish to lookout for anyone else. Only when our own interests were threatened did we ride into Europe on our white horses, claiming to be there just to save those innocent people.
We would then be talking about 10 - 12 million Jews killed instead of 6 million.
Thank god for our selfishness, eh?

hard to say but all of the death and destruction of 7Dec1941 wouldn't have happened on that day in Pearl Harbor.

The hollywood wouldnt be making millions on the tears of Americans. Personally, I hate attacks on US soil not because I care about the casualties but because I cant stand the freaking survivors making a big deal of it for the next century.

properly i do no longer understand. extraterrestrial beings could have invaded for all all of us understand. you won't be able to apply a "what if" in heritage, as actually something could have got here approximately yet my wager is that Japan and united states of america of america might development up and finally if Britain began to fall or China, united states of america of america might have stepped in. yet i think of if that got here approximately, we would declare war on Germany first, no longer Japan
