we got a cat from some people a while ago. she had about 3 litters of kittens with them. they told us that she had been spayed . we also had one of her kittens. the kitten ran away about a month ago. now the mother cat is starting to act really weird and she keeps meowing nonstop especially when we pet her almost like she wants something or something is wrong. does anyone have any idea what if anything might be wrong with her.

Are you sure the cat is spayed?

A female cat that "acts really weird" and "won't stop meowing" sounds like a cat in heat to me.

Otherwise the cat is simply confused with all the changes she has gone through and this is one way in which expresses her confusion/stress.

A quick check to see if she's in heat is to pet her down the back, then tap her on the upper bloomers behind her, beneath the tail. If her butt end shoots up and her tail twists to the side, she hasn't been spayed at all. Or the vet did a messed up job of it and left some reproductive tissue inside that's still triggering the hormones.

If she does the butt/tail thing, ask the people you got her from who their vet was that did the job, then call the vet and verify that he DID spay her, and if he did, then ask if her record shows if there were any complications during the spaying.

You should go ahead and take her to the vet for at least a wellness exam. Tell the vet what is going on and what she is doing. When one of my cats ran off, the other missed her a lot and meowed constantly. We ended up getting another kitten for her to play with, but we live on a farm so it wasn't too much of a problem to add another pet...see what the vet thinks.

She might be in heat. Take her to the vet for a check up...
