- the flag of the Druze Arabs? It's lovely!

- Thanks to Gamla Joe for giving this link in an earlier post:

I think it's really great, the way the Druze have created this fab colourful flag, which acknowledges that they live in Israel, yet still gives them a separate identity.

What do you guys think? Perhaps the Druze are setting a great example which all should follow?

Your page can't be found sorry. Cheers! The Druze in Israel are very unique from other non-Jews for the fact they can have there own leaders and are recognized as such an independent community and are an instrumental tool in the IDF as they are known as fierce warriors.

The Druze community in Israel is officially recognized as a separate religious entity with its own courts (with jurisdiction in matters of personal status - marriage, divorce, maintenance and adoption) and spiritual leadership. Their culture is Arab and their language Arabic but they opted against mainstream Arab nationalism in 1948 and have since served (first as volunteers, later within the draft system) in the Israel Defense Forces and the Border Police.

I saw the flag from Kismet's link - very nice! I agree, we could all learn a lesson from the Druze's example they are setting.
