Whats the difference, and also I want to work with the digestive system, so which one would I want to be?

The difference lies in the name itself.

Medical specialty dealing with digestion and the digestive system. Gastroenterologists diagnose and treat disorders of the stomach, intestines, liver, and pancreas, including ulcers, tumours, inflammatory diseases (including ulcerative colitis and ileitis), and rectal disorders. He is a specialist to study all the parts of Digestive system.

But a gastrointestinologist is a specialist in studying the illness and problems mainly related to intestines. He will be an expert in colonospy and surgeries there of.-

None--They perform the same function and that is diagnose and treat conditions of the gastrointestinal tract..These are Medical Doctors who have a specialty of gastrointestinal.
These are just two different spellings for the same profession.
