most of the people in my family don't give me the time of day unless they want money or need me to do something for them. I have come to look at it as a blessing because I have gotten over the emotional side of wanting them to love me... here is this one child that has a smile on her face not just for me but for all others and these same family members believe that she has a problem! she loves to read and draw pictures.. I love my family no matter what and a bleeding heart I am not I just believe that we are at the times mentioned in 2 timothy 3:1-5 and that there is nothing that can be done because we are so far gone in this system of things... Yes I have have met many that are in agreement about the times because they study the bible as I do... and the love of many have cooled off. and we are being delivered up by the love for the GOD of this system and all that he offers those that are blind that that they can not see and deaf that they can not see

you can leave it to anyone you want. Tell your attorney you want the will airtight so no one can contest it.

I think it is fine to leave the bulk of your estate to this grandchild however you better put a trusted legal executor into this well witnessed document. You should also stipulate that it be used for her educational expenses after age 18 or for a home after age 25. Someone of legal age has to administer the will and if you don't want your own children handling this and using the money before your granddaughter is of legal age, you had better say so. Most 18 year olds will run out and think "car" rather than education so make sure you say those words. I believe it is also in your best intrest as far as your children contesting the will, based on your mental status, if you designate a small sum of say $5.00 to each of the undeserving. It gets the point across and leaves no doubt in the mind of the court that you didn't "just forget these people." You might also want to consider the fact that you may have other grandchildren one day and that you may wish that you could remember them fondly in the same way as this child.

Sounds OK, by me. But get the advice of an attorney. You might want to leave each one a tiny bit, maybe $20.00 each, so that they cannot contest the will. I'm kind of in the same situation.

You'll need it to be held in trust until she's of age, but yes. Talk to your estate planning attorney about this matter, and about setting up the trust. Bring with you a picture that your granddaughter has drawn. You'll probably also need a picture of the granddaughter, and her social security number and address. Good luck.
