Is there any particular reason why Muslims in general and Pakistanis in particular have a high number of children. I know many of them have at least 2-3 kids. Is it a cultural thing ?

Having 2-3 kids is a lot? Try 8-9. Family is very important to Muslims and the more family you have, the better.

It seems like only in the states (and possibly UK) that people are hesitant to have children or dread the idea of a large family. It isn't just the Muslims, but people all around the globe that take pride in family and really hold familial relationships at a high level. Strong family ties are more important to others I suppose.

2-3 kids? I love my Yemen friends and they all have like 8-10 siblings. Their women are taken care of and stay at home so why not. Family is number 1 to them.

1) Muslims love children and consider them a blessing- they dont abort them so they can have a better "lifestyle"
2) There may be economic reasons - if you work in agriculture for example the more kids the better
3) When daddy Muslim loves mummy Muslim they both pray and the stork comes with a baby

the catholics are the most producers of children.
average catholic couple would have to have atleast 5 children
the ortho jew is obligated by his god to have a minimum of 5 children.
