Didn't Paul write of such people?
1Ti 6:6-10 But godliness with contentment is great gain.
For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

This is a question that you must answer yourself. All I will say is that those that don't believe, were never fooled by the gospels preached by these people. You may think that they started out with good intentions, but looking at them objectively shows that they knew exactly what they were doing all along, some of them just got caught sooner than others.

Thats why we need to know the word of God. In the bible, it says to test the spirits. In other words when some new doctrin or twisted piece of scripture comes along to influence the people, we must test it with the word of God. Remember when Jesus was being tempted by the devil, He used the word of God to put him in his place by saying that it is written. Its sad that some of these televangelists are fleecing the people for their money by saying that God will pay them back 10 fold or even more. This name it and claim it doctrin is blinding everyone from seeing what the true calling is. And that is to preach the gospel to all nations. They have turned God into a fuzzy warm wish granter who will give you everything you want as long as you pay and pray hard enough.
These people are going to be the ones who will not be acknowledged by Jesus as being faithful or righteous or being servants of God. In the bible, Jesus says that He will tell them to depart from Him. He also calls them workers of iniquity and that He never knew them. While people need to be kept and lead on the narrow path, these so called leaders are steering biblically illiterat christians down the broad and wide path to distruction by constantly seeking prosperity and wealth and blessings but they aren't doing anything for the kingdom of God. They no longer meet anyone elses needs like we are supposed to do. They are too busy getting there own needs met. And usually those needs are selfish ones. I was horrified when I saw Rodney H. Brown for the first time. If you know your bible, it would only take about 5 minutes to figure out that he is not a true man of God. With that holy laughter movment that he was spreading around, he explained it as a new thing that God was starting. The bible says that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. Also while trying to get everyone into the hynotic state that they need to be in for this uncontrolable laughter that starts to spread throughout the congrigation, he tells everyone not to pray and that if praying was going to do anything for anyone it would have done it by now. The funny thing is that the people who pray are not influenced into this holy laughter lie that everyone else is. Rodney called them stupit stubborn people. Jesus said to pray without ceasing. Who should we follow, Rodney H. Brown or Jesus Christ? Fred Price said that God would never use someone who was crippled for the work of God. He said, why would God use a broken vessel? I guess that that means that Joni Tadda and all of her work is in vain according to Price. Creflo Dollar and Richard Roberts? Creflow's last name says it all. Richard Roberts, His Godly prosperity was paid for by the finances of the university and his fathers ministry. Joyce Meyer is still a good speaker as far as helping people to live a Godly life. There have been issues with her in the past that she has actually repented of. We must all remember that God will prosper people for all the right reasons. I dont think that I have heard of Ted Haggerty so I cant comment on him. The bottom line is this. Jesus warned us about these people and told us to see to it that we be not decieved. Thats why we must study the word of God and pray.

You left out Benny Hinn and good ole Rev Ike
It seems they actually provide a service and meeting the needs of some people. You named people who are prosperous. They are preaching about what they have experienced personally.
Poverty is a spiritual illness, so who better to reach the spiritually impoverished than a prosperity preacher?

Actually those folks you named are spin-offs of the “name it claim it” prosperity theology developed by Oral Roberts, Ken Hagin Sr. and others in Oklahoma during the late 1970’s and 80’s
In other words, they were never part of the traditional mainline Pentecostals to begin with.

So long as there are flocks of sheep; there will be profits.
And so long as there are profits; the sheep will get sheared

A
Prosperity theology in Christianity goes back to its very inception. "Cast your bread upon the waters," for example. and it was doing quite well under the revival tents in the 1920s when Sinclair Lewis wrote "Elmer Gantry"
The big push on prosperity theology was under the Calvinist ideas of the Puritans in the 1600s and 1700s.

That's quite a mishmosh you listed. Discernment is available to all Christians. They only need to study the Word and God's character to measure all others.

Jesus himself says in Matthew that we are to gather in small groups in our home and not be boastful about what we have gained through Him. We are to attract people to God by setting a good example of a good, happy life, not by cramming their sins down their throat and asking them to send money. Jesus paid for our sins already so for churches to use that to bring people in is to use manipulation and fear. We are to teach our children ourselves.

The Bible does say that the love of money is the root of all evil. If you think about it, everything you do that is wrong or sin is because of the love of money in your heart. God have mercy on their souls.
