Well you are doing the right thing by playing it cool. Men like to be the pursuers, not be pursued. He probably appreciates having a girl to actually talk to that he doesn't have to worry about sending the wrong signals to. The only bad part is that he might just consider you a friend and have no interest in you other than that. What you have to do now is make him want you. Make yourself interesting, irresistible and outstanding, and he's going to take notice. Do it very under the radar. Don't hit on him. Just make him think its his idea that he likes you more than friends. good luck!

This is exactly what happened to me!! Everyone was/is crazy over this guy, and I never drooled! But he asked me out, and we've been dating for a month now.
Here's what you should do: You need to be REAL, and show this guy that you're a real person with a brain. Also, be a friend to him, but a flirty friend. Boost his ego, but DO NOT HANG ALL OVER HIM! You need to show him that you have a good head on your shoulders. If you're looking for a way to talk to him more, ask what the homework is for a class, or if he would like to meet up and study one day for a test. Once you two get to know each other more, you can become more open and show him the real you.
My boyfriend always tells me that the reason he asked ME out and not one of those other girls is because he could trust me, and that I was smart and did not pretend to be someone I wasn't.
So remember to just be yourself, and talk to him. He won't just notice you from afar: You need to make an effort.
Good Luck!!!!! =)

Then let him know. BUT...here's the secret. You have to carry an "I don't care" attitude. Say something like, "You and I should go out sometime." If he says, "I don't know" or "no" then you say "your loss" and walk away. If he says, "sure i'd love to" then you say "good answer." Turn it into a fun conversation - a little on the sarcastic side, but with a flirty attitude. as long as you and he are smiling, everything will be alright. Side Note: You'd be amazed at how tongue tied guys get when it comes to working up the courage to ask a girl out...it takes a lot out of us. Why? That's a different story, and rather long.

just start talking to him and ask him about stuff that appeals to him... he'll respond, and then maybe ask him out for a study date for a big test and then let it gradually get more serious..

i think that by laying low, you stand out as different... this means he'll come around sooner or later... and guys respect someone who isn't always available and not "sweating" them, for a better lack of a word... (Im from NY, sorry... lol)
