My mom has a left elevated kidney

Do you mean that the kidney is actually elevated or the lab tests that show kidney function are elevated? It is possible to have anatomic anomalies in which the kidneys are not in the usual location. What you probably meant is that the lab tests (BUN, Creatinine) are elevated. This means that the kidney function is compromised. It is important to consult with a doctor regarding this issue. She will need to watch her diet and have any underlying medical conditions treated.
Hope this makes sense! Good Luck!

It means the chemicals in her kidneys are elevated. We have to drink plenty of water daily to keep the toxins flushed out of our body. If she takes a lot of medications and does not drink much water, this could be contributing to the problem.

This could be a temporary thing and fixed by the fluids and antibiotics. If not than she will be placed on a low protein diet. She is not breaking down proteins properly right now. If the levels were really high they would have suggested a diet change right away so don't be to worried yet. Good luck. Kath
