You can't uninstall Internet Explorer in Windows, no matter how hard you try. (If you upgraded it you can uninstall the upgrade, that leaves you with the version of IE that originally came with Windows.)

I'd guess you deleted the Internet Explorer icon from the desktop or hid all the IE icons.
Click Start, Run, type iexplore.exe, click OK. Now you can see it's still installed.
To bring back the icons, do what "flogging" says. (That doesn't reinstall IE, it just restores the icons.) If it's already checked, uncheck it, click OK, then go back in and re-check it.

You can uninstall it manually, which would be by using the menu, ect. Or you could try to use a program to uninstall it, like Uninstall It 2008, or Uninstall Wizard, which you would have to buy or download, but its easier. But I Dont think you can actually uninstall & then reinstall internet explorer. it seems like its a built it program. You could always use Mozzila Firefox, too, if you just dont like Internet Explorer, it actually is a really good program, if not better, than Intenet Explorer. Hope That Helps!

I have a way easier solution to your problem. Open control panel, double click add or remove programs and click add/remove windows components and the left hand side. IE will be one of the choice and you wont have to download it. However as someone else said, Fire Fox is the way to go!

While running Windows, insert your Windows disk and run Windows Repair. It will re-install IE.

You can get IE from here:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/ie/getitnow.mspx

Then you can get a modern browser from here and stop using IE:

http://opera.com

or

http://mozilla.com/firefox
