There are some great red wines for a great price such as Concha y Toro. Little Penguin, Jacobs Creek, etc.

I really love the Yellow Tail wines from Australia. They are very inexpensive and taste wonderful. Really great for cooking as well!

I like anything red from Gallo or Bolla with meals. Yellow Tail Shiraz-Grenache is a nice hearty red drinking wine.

there's a ton of decent red wines under 10 dollars. i like to just go to the store and read the descriptions and see what's for sale. the best way is just trial and error till you figure out what you like and don't like.
