A good male friend I like started talking about farting..just joking around. I was like eww.

I was hoping he would have romantic feelings for me...
Does him taking like this mean he only sees me as a friend?

yeah it could be . or he could be very embarassed to show you how he feels and uses the fart word as a way of hiding his feelings. some may laugh at this answer . but hey if this guy is either a teenager or pretty young then thats what they do . but maybe eventually he will come from out of that so called shell of his .and tell you how he feels. or simply tell him the truth and ask of him to not use words like that around you . and if he respects you . then he will stop ' but if he doesnt then you have your answer . you're a friend and nothing else . let me know how it goes . Not necessarily. It does mean that he feels comfortable around you, which is a good thing. If you like him, just tell him. Or go buy him a Christmas card in the boyfriend section. That'd probably give him the hint.

It could mean anything. My boyfriend and I don't mind accidentally letting one rip, even in bed. We've reached that comfort zone. Nice that you've been able to do that with your friend, but what does farting have to do with romantic feelings for some one?

guys find humour in everything and for gurls it cud be sth really gross! ,,, but then guys are comfortable talking about stuff ,,, which is not a bad thing at all ... it just means he is comfortable arnd u and its a good thing,,, if u don't like his jokes then just tell him ,,,, but its got nothing to do with romance ,,,, he cud be totally in love with u and hes just being comfortable ! don't read too much into it .
