I just turned 55 and I am starting to get this feeling that it's time to move out of my parents house. I don't know! I know it's kind of stupid to feel this way and I should just be comfortable with my self, but I don't know... maybe it's time to get my own place. I have lived here since I was born and I have never been gainfully employed, I didn't finish college either so I don't believe it's appropriate for me to try to move out. More importantly tho, I am not emotionally ready. I remember someone telling me how I should move out when I am ready as a young adult and I have followed that advice. I have actually been thinking about moving out in about ten years to live with my children or something. Most people are moving in with their children at about 65 nowadays. Yea, yea, yea! Maybe I should stop this crazy thoughts and just decided WHEN I'm ready... u know. It's not up to anyone but me. Hang on! g2g my mom just came home. I am going to sneak and see what she got me for christmas

Ok, You know what?? You just need to grow up!! If you have been married as you have said then I bet that you also got a DIVORCE!! I am almost 50 myself & I got out of the house when I hit 18. It was very LIBERATING!! You can be your ouwn boss and not have to worry about what other people think about you! I also think that you need to do get some mental help! You are stikk a kid in a adult boby!! No one should still be liveing with thier parents at your age unless you are there to help take care of them! Not them take care of you. You need some MENTAL HELP!!!

I believ that you should have moved out about thirty years ago. Go find yourself a nice woman becuase there are a lot of "swinging" singles out there. Trust me and move somewhere else but close to your parents if you feel an attachment.
P.S. How could you not know what to do? Come on, I am almost 12. Good luck.

you are joking right? I mean I'm 52 and have been out on my own since I went to college when I was 19. I got married and we stayed with my parents for a short time while I was looking for a place for my wife and me.
But then again you didn't specify if they are still living and you are their caretaker.

If this is a true story....wow.
You have kids...did you raise THEM in your parents house too?
It was time to move out when you were 20, even 25 is a little late to be staying.
No offense, but it sounds like maybe you are taking advantage of your parents a little bit by living in their house without paying rent, and eating their food etc etc.
