Currently I have 5 speakers setup with HK AVR 146 (5.1) receiver, I am thinking of upgrading to HK AVR 247 (7.1) so that I can get true HDMI processing. so is it OK to do 5.1 setup using a 7.1 receiver?

the only thing a 7.1 does is take those two extra speakers and put the same signal through them as the other rear speakers.
It doesn't actually give you better sound, it just makes more noise.lol.

Any solid AVR could desire to be waiting to tension the Bose Acoustimass audio equipment. they're offered by ability of themselves to artwork with many of the solid receivers. however the 'subwoofer' isn't a subwoofer yet a "Bass Module". It is composed of particular circuits that do issues to the sign to seize up on the unmarried over-sized tweeter interior the plastic cubes. without this - the cubes are unlikely to artwork nicely or sound solid. because of the fact of this interior the Bose equipment each and all the speaker wires run to the Bass Module and the cubes are related to outputs on the module. observe: i could desire to be working with old information. This replaced into the way the Bose equipment labored years in the past. I admit I certainly have not regarded on the cutting-edge fashions. verify with Bose approximately this. Ever considering the fact that I spent $3 hundred for Quiet convenience headphones for a daughter to do a good number of airline vacationing, then after a year the rubber cups began dissolving and that i replaced into instructed to "purchase yet another pair" by ability of the Bose shop, I exceptionally plenty do no longer believe the business employer to stand at the back of their product. So i'm slightly biased.
