also as in the eyes of christians the pope is infallible, if he said that war should be waged on muslims and gave his blessing to christian suicide bombers is there any church body that could contradict/veto this as the senate could the president?

No way. It's not like my gods are in danger anyway. I fight with words, not guns, and if someone said "convert or die" I'd pretend to convert-my gods know what's really in my heart.

God is not a murderer or a psycho

no matter what some"prove' passages of the Bible or Quran or Haddith or the sacred texts of the Dawkinsites or Hitchensites or other" fundamentalist" fanatics to say. Any text can be used as a pretext for violent, destructive or antisocial behaviors

Don't worry Pope Ben 16 could not and would not advocate murder

Suicide murderers are certainly deluded and dangerous to all
and a scandal to real Muslims,Chhristians,Jews,Buddhists,Hindus, etc
but apparently not to some atheists who love to demonize all theists(but isn't that the way of all "fundamentalist" fanatics?)

Actually, Islamic martyrs supposedly receive 72 virgins in paradise, not 40.

In answer to your question, certainly not. That would be like dying for Santa Claus.

The Fisherman and the Minnow-
"A fisherman hauled in his net to find nothing but a Minnow. The Minnow begged him, out of consideration for his small size, to throw him back into the water.

'Just think!' said the Minnow, 'one day I will have grown into a great big fish, and then when you haul me in, you'll really have got something!'

'Seems to me,' replied the Fisherman, 'that I'd be a damn fool to give up what I've got now, for something I haven't got yet, no matter how big' "-Aesop's Fables

The above fable should be self-explanatory.

There are many things that I believe are truly worth dying for. Religion is not among them.

The question is not really "Will you die for God". Many people of different faiths would die for their beliefs. I would. The question though becomes "Would you kill for God". Most people would answer no except in extreme circumstances and only to save the life of another. Certainly never an innocent person. Then it becomes more of a case of self-defense or the defense of another.
Many in Islam seem to answer yes, they would die for God but also yes in that they would kill for him too.
That to me is the difference.
What kind of God would ask you to kill an innocent child in his name? What kind of God calls for public executions in Iran because a girl was raped (Atifa). What kind of God asks you to strap a bomb on yourself and kill innocent people?
No God I know or believe in.
Good question though.

Nobody ever won a Holy War by dying for their god. You win a Holy war by making some other poor Infidel die for his god!

The question has already been answered by another question.

Do you die to yourself in the everyday things, the living sacrifice or not?

Answer that and your question is solved.

At Armageddon, Yes. But forget about it with a bomb strapped to my waist. The correct number of virgins they recieve for murdering men, women and children is 72.

If they are at peace when they do it, all that will change directly after detonation when they are burning in everlasting hell, minus the 72 virgins.
