I know their beliefs differ but what are some of the more observable differences among these religions? Catholics, Christians, Protestants, Methodists, and Baptists?

And are the Catholics the only one that provides confessions?

The Catholic church is the only church that can be traced back to Jesus. Catholics do beleive in confession (face to face), we also pray and ask the Blessed Mother to intercede for us because Jesus said he will do what his mother asks of him. We also ask the saints to intercede which the other christians (protestants) will say is idolotry. We believe in purgatory after death - it is a place to get that soul cleaned up before standing in front of God who is pure. Protestants say, "It's heaven or hell" and that's it, there is no place for repentance. Catholics are much more liberal than protestants because we have mercy on those who have sins and do not damn everyone to hell. There is a HUGE difference. Some protestants cant wear make up or drink - they get crazy - the fundamentalists do anyway. Lutherans and Episcopaleans are close to Catholics aka "Tissue Paper Catholics" but are different when it comes to asking the Blessed Mother to intercede for us. Lutherans and Catholics believe the eucharist is the actual blood and body of Christ once the consecration has taken place, but the protestants think it is just a symbol.

Christians belong to the church that was built and purchased by Christ. (Acts 20:27, Matthew 16:18)

The Catholic church came out of, or apostatized from, the Christians due to changes in doctrine and organization introduced by men. The Catholic church and its doctrine continues to change today.

Jesus, on the other hand, never changes, so our doctrine should not change. Hebrews 13:8-9 says, "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Do not be carried away with various and strange doctrines...."

Protestants, Methodist, and Baptists came out of the Catholic church, or out of other churches that came out of the Catholics. Some of these churches made changes that brought them back closer to the original church, but other churches made changes that just introduced additional man-made doctrine.

The goal of the Protestants was to reform the Catholic church. The goal should have been to restore the original church!

To reform is to change. (The churches have already undergone too many changes.)

To restore it to return something to its original condition.

The erring church at Ephesus was told, "Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works..." (Revelation 2:5). They needed to be restored to being the church they once were.

The catholics used to use confession to coerce money from the uneducated flock. Regular people weren't even allowed to read the Bible, much less own one.

Then Martin Luther nailed his thesis on the door of "the church" that told people the real good news of salvation.

There is no place in the Bible that says you have to confess to a priest.

In Psalm 51:4, King David cried out to God, "Against Thee, Thee only I have sinned, and done what is evil in Thy sight..."

Repentance is between you and God, but restitution is required if you stole from someone, and you still have to pay the consequenses for your offense.

Catholics also are guilty of idolatry for all the statues they bow down to and Mary worship. The blessed mother is dead and can't do a thing. Jesus did what she asked while she was alive. Those who man has made "saints" are dead also. They can do nothing.

Praying to dead people is forbidden by God in Deut. 18. King Saul and his son were killed for calling on his dead priest to guide him.

You would do well to pray and ask God for His guidence and read the Bible for yourself for what God says, and not anyone elses belief system.

Doctrines are laws of man, and man made and full of error. They cannot save your soul.

Gods law is perfect. Read what God's laws are. God is the only one who can save your soul.

Trust God and don't let anyone tell you that God changed His mind about His promises.

God gives us the chance to repent while we are alive. The catholics and protestants can't save anyone or damn anyone to hell.

That is God's job. So, follow what He says, NOT man

Well, for starters, Catholics put together the bible using their traditions as a guideline as to what did and did not fit their beliefs. The other groups use the Catholic bible as grounds for saying that Catholic traditions are not biblical.

The rest is really inconsequential. Once you realize how the bible was assembled, you really can't justify being any kind of Christian OTHER than Catholic, if you're going to be a christian at all.
