Well to disable your firewire you go to network connections, and right click on the 1394 connection and click disable.
Now if you want to disable the fireWALL, then you can go to the same place but over on the toolbar there is a configure windows firewall setting and you can turn that off from there or simply tell it to allow limewire though. That is if you are running windows XP and have no other firewall software. If you have norton then you will have to disable it there or tell it to allow. Windows defender may block it as well.

u mean disable your firewall? thats usually what blocks limewire, because firewire is a type of cable connector. Go into "Control Panel" and select "Classic View" and at the bottom there should be an icon with a brick wall that'll say "Windows Firewall". Click on it, and select "off" for your firewall.
Becareful when keeping it off though because that's a way spyware and viruses get into your computer!

Edit: Okay, I just re-read this... Do you mean Firewall or Firewire?
For Firewall, you have to go into your Start Menu / Control Panel / Windows Firewall and choose "Turn Off"
If you are speaking about Firewire, here is how to do it.
Go into your BIOS settings when your computer boots; usually by holding down the DEL key.
Within the BIOS (bluescreen settings) you should be able to find your Firewire settings in integrated periphrials tab and you can choose for Firewire to be either Enabled, or Disabled.
Hope this helps.
Best of luck!
p.s.
Don't forget to save your settings when you exit your BIOS.

It should have warned you that limewire was trying to use a port ,,(@ install) at that time you should have allowed it,, to always have that right,, now it will be a pain in the butt to disable each time u want to use LW.. but just right click the program icon ,, that should help you disable,,...

You don't say what firewall that you use. If it is Zone Alarm, will have an icon in your tray and you just open and exit. Will shut down your firewall
All I can tell you is to open your firewall and look for an option to shut the firewall down.
