I am a Quaker and people seemed to have develop stereotypes about us! It is very annoying! Does anyone know why people don't like us?

Religion is and always has been based on little more than culture. Around 3/4 of the global population will carry on the beliefs of their parents religiously in some format or denomination. Hatred comes from ignorance, not only when concerning religiosity but any cultural divide.

Quakers have a wonderful history and are truly people of faith. I'm sorry people have been mean on this board; seems to be a ritual here. Keep up the good work! While I'm not a pacifist per se, I'm glad Quakers have kept the fires going for peace throughout their history.

I don't know anything about Quakers so I wouldn't even know how to stereotype you. Isn't that dude on the oatmeal box a Quaker?

Didn't your last question involve asking for info about Quakers? Maybe people don't like the fact that you claim to be a Quaker, yet evidently you know nothing about it.
I happen to like Quakers. I think their asceticism and pacifism are incredibly admirable. I just don't like people that adopt beliefs they know nothing about.

Well, to be honest, if being a Quaker involves you not being a pretentious or a rabid evangelist, I am cool with it. (Actually, I believe that a religious beliefs survey I took actually had it that I strongly correlated with Quaker beliefs, so, maybe there is more to it than even I admit...).

I really didn't realize that people didn't like Quakers - some of my ancestors were Quakers.
It's probably because of the misunderstandings about Quakers, or because Quakers are Christians, and Christians are generally the target of hatred.
I'll just leave you with these words, friend--Merry Christmas and peace to you and yours.

Cause they don't know a lot about your faith or its fabulous history. I belong to another large Christian sect and have nothing but respect for the Quakers because I KNOW about their history. When people say dumb things about your faith, make it a teachable moment.

I need to do some research on the Quaker beliefs. I am not sure what exactly you do believe. When you have the time you can e-mail me and give me a brief description. Thanks

Don't hear of too many Quackers. I admire anyone who can hold to an not so popular religion in modern times. Hope you have a nice Christmas.
Edit:
Oh this is a joke. Ha ha.
I think my question answers your problem and your pathetic ploy for attention:
