People seem to be hating on it just for the sake of it.

It's performance is totally believable. The non-hybrid, diesel engined VW Polo sold in Europe gets 73 mpg, and outweighs this car by 1,000 lbs. Plus, if you read the article, the gas engine is just there to recharge the battery, not move the car.

It could be unsafe, but certainly no more than a motorcycle, and there are millions of people driving those around.

I'd bet my house that they will sell more of them than they can make if nobody interferes. The first electric car sold in California was a complete success despite the fact that it was squashed by the major car manufacturers. It's nice to see someone NOT affiliated with major car companies build something like this that can actually get sold.

Looks cool, and they are supposedly safe, But i'm still not sure I'd want to get hit by an SUV while driving one.

Great, the government should pass a law that all liberals have to buy one to save the environment. Because I'm sick of them constantly whining, sniveling and complaining about Komrad Al "I invented the Internet" Gores newest invention global warming.

Then the rest of us will have more gas to burn in our gas hogs.
4x4 Ford Super Duty - 10mpg

I would love it. So I can go from NYC to L.A. (3000 miles) on 10 gallons. My Civic has 11 gallon tank!

I would drive all around USA just for fun.

Good Luck
