I'm not trying to be mean, I just can't get my head around the idea that people still belive this stuff.

In this day and age people still believe in a magic man in the sky? They reject science, yet they take medicine, wear artifical fabrics, and look at pictures and writing over a computer network?

Are they all lying, and actually know better?

What's the motive?

How anyone can believe in anything unreal amazes me.

What possible benefit is there other than adding a deceptive sense of whimsy to ones life?

The one problem with "faith" is people tend to ignore the possible conflicts of their beliefs. To them they are exuding a positive outlook but in reality they close their mind.
They have become so obsessed with their belief that the thing they fear most is being wrong. They feel this would destroy everything about their way of looking at things.
What they don't see is all the religions over the years have twisted what they think is truth into a complicated web of half truths. If they just simplified things back to the way Jesus presented it when he was on earth..., it makes a whole lot more sense.
God told us to spread the word..., not cram it down people's throats until they gagged on it. Instead of doing God's work they end up turning people off to it.

properly, first you are able to desire to convince me of supernatural phenomena. i will provide you a great miracle that could desire to be used to instruct that one. the following day morning, I awaken, go browsing, and examine that by some potential each individual on earth who's lacking a limb had a residing substitute advance in one day. Then over right here couple of days I examine extra approximately how hundreds of hundreds of human beings have been interviewed and that it is a hundred% real and that there is no available rationalization for it. provide me that one and that i will start to have self belief in supernatural. of direction, there'll nevertheless be debate as to what faith and what god is accountable for this in spite of the shown fact that it would be an exceedingly healthy first step.

I believe in God and in science, I try not to take medicine, only when really necessary and yes I wear artifical fabrics and play on the computer. He has created everything, even given scientists and physicians knowledge and wisdom to help us. God just wants to love us and help us through this life and be with Him for all eternity. Sounds like God loves us to me.

Sorry, but I think you're wrong.
They are using faith. Faith, to me, is PRETENDING to know something that you don't.
Believers compartmentalize their faith in order to take advantage of the modern ways of life.
For instance, many Christians proclaim that prayer works. Their faith props up this assertion. Why do they immunize their children against polio? If prayer works, why bother going down to the clinic? Why not just pray to God to protect the child from polio, if prayer really works?
I suspect that they immunize their children because they not only know that it works, but it works better than prayer because they know sometimes God doesn't answer their prayers.
Their not lying about believing, they are lying to themselves about knowing.

Some people believe in God out of fear. Other people believe in God to explain the unexplainable. They simply refuse to open up their minds. It is impossible to believe in evolution and to believe in God at the same time. Because of this, they reject the concept of evolution and other forms of science.

It is my opinion that "religious" people believe very deeply in what they profess, and have many ingenious ways to reconcile those beliefs with science.

Keep in mind that not all religious people reject science.

My thoughts exactly.

I like to think that they are just pretending - I hope they are just pretending.

The alternative is unthinkable, and it saddens me deeply.

If a mass amount of people can be deluded and persuaded this easily, humanity is in big trouble.
