I think a good way to keep your dogs from ganging up on the chicikens would be when (if) you get yout puppy let him socialize with the chickens often under someones supervision!! p.s great pyrenese is a beautiful loving dog!

I have always lived in the country, always had multiple dogs at a time, and I have never had a problem with my dogs killing chickens. On the other hand, the only "killer" dog I've owned was a pitbull, and he only killed cats. Course he killed EVERY cat he saw. From my farming experience, if you want to protect the chickens, I would get a goat. Goats can be mean! Where are you from? I live in northwest Ohio (US) and believe it or not, Ohio currently has a problem with coyotes, wolves and black bears moving back into the area. Bears and wolves will kill just about any dog. Good luck and Merry Christmas.

How your dogs behave with the chickens and each other will depend on the training and expectations that you have for them* Think about rescuing a dog if you have the means & capabilities to bring another dog into your home*

Well you can be sure that the dogs aren't going to protect your chickens.. But if you take the time, you can teach the dogs to leave the chickens alone.

Any dog can be taught to leave stock alone, but rotti and pyrnesee are both great Moms. Just be sure you have the time to give to the two of them.

what one dog wont do, two will.
I am not saying the chickens are at risk...but...keep and eye on that situation or the dogs will have chicken for supper everyday till the supply runs out.

I wouldn't mix these two dogs together. It can be more grief for you then you need. Myself, I feel that the Great Pyrenees is the better choice for pet and guard dog.

i dont think they will kill the chickens...but you might want to give you chickens their own area with a fence around it.

If you socialize the pups they will be find if you don't then they will kill them. It's your job to make it happen not the dogs.
