hmm..the problem with us is we trust our 5 senses (touch, hear, smell, taste, sight) and any object that can be sensed with these 5, we "believe" in it. But faith or God caters to our sixth sense, our mind, our thoughts. It is abstract and so makes it difficult to "believe" at first. But if you "open" your mind, use it to "discover" what /who God is,question on why things happen, why be born, just to die or was there something else to achieve? Not to believe is easy, like frogs in a well, why worry or ponder what is beyond the well? Religions were born out of different people enquiring/experiencing God in different ways. Like different paths but all leading to the same destination. Some find one path easier than another -for different reasons ofcourse. So enquire..and find your path. And when you find the path that feels right for some reason(instinct?), and start down that path, you will start experiencing something totally different... so the saints or sages say.People say science opposes; no..this is a science too. It is the knowledge of the self...and the proof lies in your own spiritual experiences.

Know this: walk in the light that you already have and God will sent you more light! The best way to find this light is to do as God has instructed; Study His Book! The best Bible is the KJV as you study note down the verse references, (use a complete Strong's concordance) and then when you read the verses again stay with the subject and take the weight of evidence as the truth, because it is so easy for people to take a verse or two or just a portion of a verse and use that to justify their belief, even when the weight of evidence is against what they believe. This is what has gotten the Protestants into so much trouble, not believing the weight of evidence! Anyway, along the way as you put into practice what you have learned, and you have made yourself trust in what God has said, you Will find that you have the faith that you now are looking for. If you need help, please do not hesitate to e-mail me, and I will help you all that I can.

I was raised Christian and now I am Jewish so just because you are raised one way does not mean you'll stay that way when you honestly seek your truth. Faith comes from belief. You are not really 'believing' for now you are following your mother's religion. Not the same thing. Read ,study, find out whats out there but joining a group is a social thing that affiliates you with a religion and a set of agreed upon interpretations.Faith is something that comes separately and is yours alone. Hope this helps.

Go on a spiritual quest. No, not a real harrowing journey, but a quest for knowledge and truth. Research some of the most popular religious beliefs and the principles on which these beliefs are founded, then decide for yourself. I grew up Methodist. In the Methodist church, babies are baptised soon after birth, but when you reach a certain age then you have to be confirmed by going through a confirmation class where you ewplore Methodism and other religions like Hinduism, Catholicism, Judaism etc.. then you make a choice whether you believe in Christ as your savior or not, and you confirm your affirmation in a ceremony.

yes you are absolutely right and thats why religion is so strong now a days is b/c it is forced upon young kids at early ages by parents. They tell you that god is watching you and God will punish you if you sin and all that garbage. I mean how i see it is that the weak minded are the ones that believe in faith and are religious. Dont get me wrong i dont look down on ppl b/c they are religious or anything this is just my person opinion. You need to go out and research on religions before you decide which you will choose if you decided to choose at all. Personally im agnostic. But my best advice is to explore it on your own and see what you agree with its a person decision. When I have kids I will tell them the same thing. Im not going to force a religion on them that i know may not be true.

There are many ways to force yourself to believe in something, but I'm not sure that it's the point. In today's world people have a choice what to believe in and it probably makes sense to look around and see what other religions or philosophies have to offer. You will then see what you like most. In my opinion a forces faith is not worth much because it is not sincere and will eventually fall apart. True faith can come only from your free choice, which you can make from comparing different things.

I love God and Jesus and believe, There are so many stories about people with near death experience seeing a white light and i know theres a God i feel him all around, hes watching over us and one day we will be with him, It a matter of what you believe no one should tell you how and who to have faith in.

It's not a quick process, but you're well on the way by asking. There's a big difference between living in a religious culture and asking yourself what you believe and why.
The tough part is facing the questions you have yourself, then asking other people why, and more important, what they believe. Don't expect it will all be consistent or even coherent when they explain, but it's important to ask yourself and those around you and even more important to listen to the answers. I truely believe you will find the faith you seek this way.

I think this is a tough stage that a lot of people go through. I'm an atheist myself, but if it is really important to you try talking to your mother or your minister/pastor.
Maybe some of your friends are going through this too, just the fact that you are worried about it shows that you can overcome it.
You could also research some other religions, see if there might be ones that make more sense for you to be involved in. Good luck!
