I think the effect of the soon-to-be retiring baby boomers on workplaces would be a great topic. Lots of charts and graphs of how many will be retiring and the shortfall created b/c not enough HSers are graduating each year. Ways to ameliorate: get people to work longer (make it more flexible), target training more specifically for HS graduates, get more people in the job pool (disabled, immigrants, ex-offenders when possible).

Maybe a study in workplace violence prevention? Employee retention? An aging workforce and how to plan for mass retirements?

What area are you speaking of? Employee retention, benefits, training... HR is very broad....
