It just occured to me that all of the Christmas presents I have so far received and the majority I will be giving are alcoholic, and while I am an atheist and don't really care (they have been/ will be appreciated...), I was curious as to whether this may be considered inappropriate.

Last year, I got the biggest bottle of Bailey's there is! Why would it be inappropriate? I'll bet everyone wants you to draw your name during the holidays!

This is a good question.

It seems to me that yes, if you are giving gifts that tempt to sins (such as alcohol, porn or weapons of personal destruction) or emulate sins -- yes, I am also talking about first-person shooter games -- then you should ask yourself where your talk and your walk meet. Enabling others is taking on culpability, especially if you know your recipient has particular weaknesses in the direction you're stimulating.

Of course, I'm not a devout Christian; personally, I think giving people things you know are likely to harm them is cruel, even if they want it. I don't give chocolate to diabetics or alcohol to friends with drinking problems for example.

Pax. Out.

Friend, God doesn't won't you to have the alcohol or to give it to anyone else. If it was me, I would pour it down the drain.

"...old things are past away, all things become new."

If you are an atheist, you must know then that God is working on your heart. Thank God for it!

Friend, would you like to get right with Jesus today? You know, you can. You know, Jesus has a purpose for your life. It's not to just live and die.

"behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)" 2 Corinthians 6:2

Dear friend, you don't seem like a real stalwart atheist to me because you have a real conscience and awareness and thoughtfullness with regards to morality towards others. However, to answer your question, yes it is wrong!
The Bible teaches that a person with a respect to God's instructions, and honouring His Word, that strong drink should NOT be given to his neighbour, see in the writings of Habakuk the prophet chapter 2 verse 15 it's written " Woe unto him that giveth his neighbour drink, that puttest thy bottle to him, and makest him drunken also, that thou mayest look upon their nakedness"! KJV Bible. (Literally to put an occasion in his way in order to place him into a condition where he is exposed, ashamed or humilliated and not aware of his actions and not only without clothing, although actually this was the condition that the prophet Noah got into through drinking wine, he was laying in an humilliating state!
In fact, in the Holy Scriptures there are many references to not drinking or giving others drink whether they be believers or not! Romans 14:21. Not only that but it is an act of hypocrisy for someone who confesses to be a Christian to give others, what he knows to be wrong in the sight of God! You are quite right it's not appropiate for a devout Christian. Today Christmas has just become a "booze-mas!" The stimulation and intoxication for a real Christian is found in Christ! Jesus spoke of this in St. John 7:37-39.
Wishing you this seasons greetings, thank you for your question.
Rev. Joseph.

I think that God appreciates it when we give gifts that will bless the person. I use to give alcoholic presents before I became a Christian, God knew my heart and that I was giving it because I cared for the person. He understands us more than we know. He is not mad at us or hates us, no matter what we do.

Yes, it is. If you've bought anything like that, give it immediately to us sinful types, so that nobody else gets hurt.

if you are giving it to someone you know has an alcohol problem then yes - otherwise no - but if you give porn movies or something like that to anyone then yes
