Eating the finest Italian food, my mother's from childhood, do what my mom did. Serve breaded eggplant along with seasoned breaded and cheese tomato slices, grilled. The cheese is imported hard ground provolone. Most Sicilian families do not serve bread with pasta. And of course the lasagna has ground beef and pork in it.

Lasagna doesn't need a lot of help, it's so good but I make a Casear salad and some garlic bread or bread sticks with fresh cold butter. Lots of wine and no one will complain!

just about any green vegetable will do, keep it simple like sauteed spinach w/ garlic, or a green salad w/ a nice vinegary dressing, to cut the richness of the lasagna.

other than those, i donno..lasagna is very filling, so it would have to be light.
