It is safe, and just put some plastic wrap on the turkey so it don't get dried out in the fridge.

If it was just the wrapper being split, I would say wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and put it on a pan in the fridge. But it is not safe to leave it at room temperature for that long. Some of it will have defrosted, all around the edges, and those sections will be teeming with bacteria.

You can go ahead and cook it anyway, but don't feed it to anyone under 5 years old or any elderly people. the rest of you can probably fight off a bout of salmonella if you get it, though it won't be pleasant.

Yes, a few hours on the counter should not have defrosted it too much, and it likely needs to continue to defrost, which can be done in the fridge on a baking tray- but wrap the entire thing in saran wrap, a lrage zip lock, or a trash bag to continue to defrost.

Yeah, should be absolutely fine. I think the only place many people have for the turkey at this time of year is the shed, or the oven....so even being in the fridge will be an improvement on most defrosting sites! lol

I would wrap it well and put it on a plate at the bottom of the fridge.
Not just the blood - there is salmonella to watch out for.
You are going to cook that turkey but not the butter or cheese or fruit that it might drip onto.

yes but leave at the bottom of the fridge so blood cant drip on other foods. Remember to ensure that the bird is fully defrosted before cooking.

Re I would leave it out to defrost and cover with tinfoil. They say you should allow the turkey 24hrs to defrost

Good luck merry xmas
