You might get some insight into the reasons why Christians are so hated if you read "When Bad Christians Happen to Good People," by Dave Burchett.

Eye-opening -- a must-read for every Christian.

Well, Christianity's teachings are one reason I don't believe in God. If he appeared and disowned the lot of you, I'd reconsider my views.

Why don't you believe in other religions? No really, think about that one for a moment, make a list of the reasons. Now compare that list against against Christianity, see if any of them apply.

What, nearly all of them?

And THAT would be why I hate Christians. Or one reason, anyhow. And perhaps 'hate' is too strong a word. It's more 'pity', with a dash of 'loathing'.

I don't hate Christians, most of my friends and family are Christians, I love them, value them and respect them.

I just don't believe that there is anything tangible about religions, and that they have a historically proven trend to cause people to hurt one another.

I would turn the question around and ask why you thought that non believers deserved eternal torture? and isn't that a very hateful thing to believe?

I don't hate anybody. None of the atheists that I know hate Christians or anybody else. Most of the bad answers that you see here are from teenagers who are atheist just to tee off their parents.
We do not believe in God because there is no evidence that the Christian God or any God exist.

Who said we hated Christians?

I think I'll start saying, "Hate the religion, not the Christian."

I do believe though that religion is for mindless followers who can't think for themselves. It's something used to herd the people and to control them. God is a concept used to explain the unexplainable.

I don't believe in any religion because I don't believe in any higher power. I don't hate Christians.

I do not believe in any religions because most of them require beliefs in gods. There is no evidence to support the existence of any gods, so there is no reason to believe.

I do not hate christians. I do not hate anyone.

Please understand that not believing and hate are two very separate things.

I don't believe in any religion because there's no evidence that any gods exist. Why don't you worship Zeus for example

I don't hate xians. I don't particularily like xianity but I don't hate it's followers for being xian.

Atheism rises above creeds, and puts Humanity upon one plane. There can be no "chosen people" in the Atheist philosophy. There are no bended knees in Atheism; no supplications, no prayers; no sacrificial redemptions; no "divine" revelations; no washing in the blood of the lamb; no crusades, no massacres, no holy wars; no heaven, no hell, no purgatory; no silly rewards and no vindictive punishments; no christs and no saviors; no devils, no ghosts, and no gods.
