Firstly, Adobe Reader is a piece of crap, so it may be giving you problems for no other reason than that.
You could try uninstalling it and re-installing it, see if that helps.
If it doesn't help, then I definitely recommend switching to a different program for viewing PDF files, and I highly recommend Foxit Reader, which is free and fast.

Adobe reader is a pig for computer resources. Honestly the best way to fix this is change to foxit reader. You won't regret it.

No doubt about it - you would be better using FOXIT READER from www.foxitsoftware. It is both faster and better. Don't forget to uninstall Adobe first.
