I am both:

I am an atheist because I do not believe any deities of any kind.

I am an agnostic because I know their is no evidence to conclusively either prove or disprove the existence of a deity.

Agnostics claim there is no way to know if gods exist.
That is true. However, it skirts the real question.....Do they have any beliefs in any gods (irrespective of their position on knowledge)?

Where the rubber hits the road is without the possibility of knowing for sure if gods can exist, do agnostics have any BELIEF in these gods?

If they don't, they are atheists as well.

Well I don't really care what anyone believes so from that point of view I'm fine with them.

On a personal level I don't get it. I don't get why I should be agnostic in regards to a god but I can be "atheistic" about every single unknowable thing - like unicorns or teapots circling mars.

I'm an atheist and I think agnostics are fine folks.
I think most Christians are fine folks. I just disagree with the system of knowledge that they adhere to.
I don't mind saying Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays.
People need to lighten up a bit!

I have respect for agnostics. I used to be one before a became an atheist. I look at agnosticism as the first step toward atheism.

I am an ex-agnostic.

I understand the philosophy behind it. It makes sense, if you are willing to accept that mankind will one day obtain all the knowledge in the universe, and if you are willing to accept unicorns leprechauns neptune and zeus as possibly existing.

Agnostics are more realistic than theists, but there are some that use agnosticism as a reason not to learn. I chose agnosticism because I didn't want to let go of God, just in case. I finally came to atheism when I realized that all excuses and proofs for gods are the same. This lead me to rely on the evidence we do have about gods, and make the conclusion that all gods are creations of man, and don't exist.

The great thing about science and relying on it, is that if compelling tangible evidence makes itself known in the future, I can change my position, but without it, there is no need to.

I think agnostics have gone the first step in realizing that religon is total tripe, but need to apply their logic to the tooth fairy, or FSM. If you say, "I can never know whether god exists or not," you can also say, "I can never know whether the pink unicorn exists." It just doesn't work out.

People can believe what they want to believe. Agnostics don't bother me at all.

I know agnostics scores more in Scrabble.

Beyond that, what am I supposed to think of them? They're people, not some mass gestalt. I take them as they come.

I lay somewhere in the middle of the two, leaning more towards athiest. I dont necessarily believe in anything, but the human in me yearns to want to believe in something. Humans cant accept that they are mediocre and will always want to part of something, to make life have more meaning then what we are doing today.

I'm at peace with the big dirt nap, but little parts of me want there to be more...purpose to life then that.

But, if i did believe in any supernatural presense, it would not be a god, but more of a life-force (for lack of better words) that lives in all of us.
