The focus of our church is not on the one hour on Sunday (and we also have others speak), but in our small groups which usually focus on devotions (Bible study) or on a particular topic (young mothers, for instance). One hour on Sunday can't possibly prepare people for a full Christian life. Many more churches are going this route as people seek a more spiritual life.

God has a calling on each and every life some are preachers some are teachers some are singers some are prayer warriors, I went to a church we're there were 7 ministers my husband being one of them and the pastor would alternate them all giving them all a chance to speak, although wednesday night bible study the pastor loved to get the congregation involved asking and answering questions as well. who ever is the speaker for the night is the one through God's guidance has the word for the night God knows what's going on in each and every life we do not.

In my church, different people every week speak on a different topic, and there are usually three who talk per week. So everyone gets a chance to be heard. ^_^
