with my xtra large i love newfies and great danes and forgot to mention in my large breed section the labrador!! lovely dogs. i agree with dogs being at least medium sized; small ones i wouldnt like to have cos i'd be scared i hurt it when it pulls on the lead and stuff!! no one ever gets scared about breaking a great danes neck when it pulls on the lead; they're more worried about break their own neck!! lol

Medium - English Springer Spaniel my mom got one - love him to sweet and smart

My fave breed bar none is the Irish Setter. I've never had one but -trust me- I will. They're so beautiful (just *look* at that rich copper fur), elegant, noble and cute at the same time.

*XSmall - NONE: Dogs that you can carry in your purse suck
*Small - Bichon Frissé, they look just like stuffed animals.
*Medium - Beagle or English Coker Spaniel (my fave pet was an english coker who lived with us since for 13yrs, I had him as Xmas present when I was 9-10, I was a kid and he was just a puppy so we grew up together. He sadly passed away from cancer but he was the best and most beautiful friend
*Large - Obviously the Irish Setter, but I also loooove any kind of retriever, specially the Golden Retriever. Large dogs generally have my fave breeds, almost of the standard arge dogs are just beautiful and extremely smart to boot.
*Extra Large - Saint Bernard, though they drool too much poor things!

don't like tiny dogs
smallest I like > Pomeranian
medium > English Springer Spaniel and Border Collies
Large > German Shepherd (my normal breed) and Retrievers
Extra large > Irish Wolfhound

My dogs are rescued and most breeds have dedicated rescue societies now so you can still get a full breed!

Dobermanns and lurchers usually appeal to me, but I really like loads of breeds. I never used to like staffies but recently on a visit to a rescue centre there was one there which just broke my heart- more so than any of the other dogs there.
I'd also like a griffon bruxellois in the future because I love toys as much as larger breeds. I also like chihuahuas, boston terriers, wire haired dachshunds, italian greyhounds, pugs, gordon and irish setters, wire haired pointers, bloodhounds.....the list goes on!!

Small--Italian greyhounds---intelligent and high energy level. I never tire watching them in the chase. Just beautiful.
Medium--Shar Pei--I'm bias as I bred, trained and showed for years. Very sweet personality, loyal and intelligent.
Large--tough one as there are so many great breeds--goldens, greyhounds, american bull dog
Very large--Cane Corso--hands down my fave. Fantastic disposition, great with kids, smart and protective.
As you can see, as a trainer I value intelligence above almost any trait.
