Or do you celebrate the birth of the prophet Jesus (pbuh) like everyone else?

Shaybani - good point. I think because most people who aren't christians in this country are muslim and you are the only other religion who has Jesus in your book so I thought you may celebrate his birth. Also, no one knows when Jesus was born so it is an arbitary date where we celebrate it once a year.

Probably the same things the Christians do when it is the Muslims holiday in Muslim countries, such as Ramadan. Everything is closed the whole month, and if you are caught eating or chowing gum! you go to prison for the remaining of that month. Believe me that is the truth. Everything close in Ramadan, and everyone must observe the month. No matter what is their religion.

Enjoy the day off, and do some me time. Have fun with your family, eat, drink and be Merry, or Happy. Christmas is a day to honor Jesus Christ. Does it matter if it was His real birth date or not! I don't think it matters. Have fun. Life is short. Do whatever makes you smile.

Edit,
Thank you for the info. The countries I have been in. They do, and it doesn't feel good not having the ability not to even drink water, or even chew a piece of gum. No disrespect to you, but that is what happens.

I am not generalizing. Jordan, Syria, Saudi Arabia among other do close everything. I was speaking of those countries that do close everything. You answered according to your own experience, so did I.
The only country I know they don't is Lebanon. Egypt! I believe they do close. UAE, possible they don't close, as they wish.

Do whatever you wish. I am only answering the question and I am not attacking anyone or what they do in their country.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holiday, Happy Days. Whatever makes you smile, and Happy

Well on Christmas day I just sit around watch movies, go on Internet, do homework, just like what I would do on any other day at home. However, I think Christmas has sort of lost its meaning. It used to be purely about Jesus's birth, which Muslims can relate to as we believe in Jesus however, we are not really supposed to celebrate his birth. But, Christmas is not just about Jesus anymore, now its also about Santa, a reindeer with a red nose and snowmen, which are things that Muslims can't really relate to.

being off work is always good no matter what religion you are!

Not all the shops are shut, many eating places are open and we always have our friends and families.

then there is the box, watching Christmas carol for the umpteenth time always uses up some ours of the day, and I'm sure snowman will be on again too.

Then we eat our fill, get drowsy and sleep.

sound familiar?

where I live United Arab emirates Xmas is every where shops, street, shopping malls and specially lovely lights and huge Xmas trees the children love it so we go out enjoy the atmosphere or do the usual have dinner with my friends.

epitafio , not all countries put people in prison if they eat may be it is in Saudi Arabia but for other countries they have mixed religions we know that Christians don't fast Ramadan but for my experience my friends and my mother were Christians and they used to fast with us...something called respect and sharing the occasions together ...so in Ramadan shops don't close in Cairo or in U.A.E so don't generalise your experience.

lol, I just chill and have a fun time at home with my family. Of course, we don't celebrate the event, but it's nice to see the decorations that are put up in the city centre.
