You must remember that this is her thirTEENth birthday. She's probably already stressed that she will be a teenager and should be treated as one. So, buying 'teenage' things is probably the best thing you can get her. Buy her some good makeup. Fragrances may also be appreciated. I'd even venture to say that you should get her some fashion magazines.

Edit: WHOOPS --I misread the question. I thought you were asking for gift ideas.

Well, for my thirteenth birthday party, I hosted a costume party.

One of my neighbors just turned 14 and she had a scrapbooking party. She had her friends bring photos from home, and paper, stickers, markers, scissors, glue, etc. (You can get scrapbooking supplies at any craft store, and sometimes at 99-cent or discount stores).

She found really cute photo albums at a local store for $3 each and she gave one to each girl as their party favor. The girls used the photo albums to make their scrapbooks.

Her mom ordered pizza and they got a couple of movies to watch while they sat at a big table and worked on their projects. And at the end of the party, everyone had a keepsake to take home!

How about a skating or bowling party. Some bowling alleys will let the kids do midnight bowling also, if it's ok with the parents. Kids love it !

You should have family and friends over and have one big party. She'll really like that.

Or you can take her and her friends out, to go get a manicure and pedicure, then maybe go out to eat. A lot of people do that now, so it's a good thing.

Shopping for her gift with a couple of friends only and then a movie and eat at a really popular restaurant so that everyone will know it's her birthday.

I think you should surprise her with all her BEST friends and get her some gifts you think she would like. Ask her BEST friends if she would like whatever you think about buying her. Take her to a place she enjoys being. After that see if she can spend the night with a friend. She should be happy after that.

or, you could do a party w/ boys and girls, and have one at home. then you can play spin the bottle in privacy.
