The Apostle Paul answers your question: 'So I say, live by the Spirit and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature... if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law... the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.' (Gal 5:16-26).

'If you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you receivd the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry out, 'Abba, Father.' The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God;s children.' (Romans 8:13-17)

Those who know the truth of those scriptures and live by them are led by God's Holy Spirit.

It was the Holy Spirit who led me to repentance and saving grace. It was the Holy Spirit who convicted me. It was the Holy Spirit who guided me to a Baptist church and directed my path during the early years of my Christian life.

Yet, stupid and sinful person that I am, I fail to seek guidance and direction from the Holy Spirit as I know I should. That's why I keep getting into trouble and have to keep on seeking forgiveness. Will I never learn? 'The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak', springs to mind.

I'm glad you asked this question - it is a timely reminder. I will now revisit John 15 (the vine and the branches) and John 16 (the work of the Holy Spirit). I must be a very leaky vessel because I think I need a serious top up!

Any true Christian is led by God, who gives them guidance and direction. Christianity is something a person would naturally crave, or follow out of desire or pleasure. It is certainly God who guides and directs me along this path.

Interesting question...let's look at it..

Choice..be led by the Holy One, or to ignore Him...

Choice.. Seek wisdom from the Wisest, or ignore the gift?

Choice .. Pursue Holiness, or pursue wickedness..

as for your question...I'm going to raise my hand and say ... "me", because I have yet to see any better way.

I feel that through my prayers and devotion to God I am led in the right direction, although it is up to me to follow that path.
