My parents, doctor, and my new therapists and pshycologists think that shaving my head is the best for me. Since I have a hair pulling disorder. I'm not crazy or anything. I'm actually very smart. I'm in honors and have straight A's. But I'm a little scared of what people might think. I really don't want to shave my head.
Just be honest, I have to be prepared for the harsh truth.

Why not pull the hair on something else ? Like a doll you have . or have a wig attached on your head? And then see a person skilled in acupuncture techniques that will ease this nervous disorder? Also you can get relief from hypnosis if done by a certified tech. They can also help train your mind to accept a wig, or maybe use the ten-dicey towards a positive goal.
Just as alot of smokers have a nervous disoredr that forces them to keep their hands bz. Maybe you need to keep bz er. Not with your brain, as you have said, but with your hands. Use your energy up more.
Your hair will not make you anymore beautiful, your hapiness will. Be happy, and let others know it. Then deal with this in a manner that pleases you. Then all whom like you know you, not what they want you to look like. But don't surrender so easily either. Go get help.

honestly, its going to be a tough decision for u. Being a sinead O'connor takes guts. But let me tell u its the best for u and u have to do it if all these ppl think that u should. It might take a little getting used to, but eventually everything will fall in place and u will have a great life. Just ask them if keeping very very short hair(2-3 mm) is an option ? If no then take it as gods will and go ahead. i am sure it will turn out to be an excellent thing to have done afterall.

I don't think that is a solution to your disorder. I think this will put you under even more stress. You need to find a professional who can help you learn how to deal with this and face it head on. Not mask it by shaving your head. YOu will just pull other places. don't be imberassed, this is a disorder and there are people who can help you. You just have to be willing to put a lot of work and self control to it. Good luck.

My lovely wife lost all of her hair when she when through chemotherapy. She was amazing. At first, she would wear soft hats then after a while she went out without anything on her head at all. It was all an inside job. She didn't care what other people thought, she was the survivor here. Same for you. Do what you need to do to treat your disease. When you are ready to grow your hair back, you will appreciate it even more.
Those that love you will still love you. Those that look at you funny or with disdain, haven't walked a mile in your shoes...blow them off.

Go ahead and shave your head! just in case you start searching for hair to pull out. And don't worry about what the others might think buy some cheap wigs and wear them.

If you shave your head then maybe people will think you are emulating Brittney Spears which is definitely not a good thing. My advice is to do what you know will help you. Maybe even as a help to stop pulling out your hair, you get it cut really short. Guy short but not guy cut. Pixie cut. This might help.

Honestly, guys don't go after bald girls. Seriously.

Why don't they treat the root of the problem? That's what I don't get. Once your hair grows back, your disorder will still be there. Sounds like you need a new therapist.

I've seen a few girls at the mall with a low hair cut and thought it was attractive. I guess it depends on how it looks on the girl. But you shouldn't make your decisions based on what people might think of you. Do what you feel comfortable with.....honestly
