Actually, it was a advertising copywriter for Montgomery Ward that invented the tale of Rudolph.

Perhaps you are thinking about Redolph the Rude-nosed Reindeer.

I just call em all 'Bambi`.
Really annoys the 'Disney cute little animals` crowd.
If Rudolph "guided the sleigh" today,
he'd probably wind up with a DUI.
