Archangel Gabriel
In Christianity, the Annunciation is the revelation to Mary, the mother of Jesus by the archangel Gabriel that she would conceive a child to be born the Son of God. The Christian churches celebrate this with the feast of Annunciation on March 25, which as the Incarnation is nine months before the feast of the Nativity of Jesus, or Christmas. The date of the Annunciation also marked the New Year in many places, including England (where it is called Lady Day). Both the Catholic and Eastern Orthodox faiths hold that the Annunciation took place in the then village of Nazareth, but differ as to where exactly. The Catholic Church of the Annunciation marks the site preferred by the former, while the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation marks that of the latter.

The angel who told the wise men about not returning to King Herod and to return to their homes using another way was not named at the Bible. Since the other messages regarding the birth of Jesus were given by Gabriel you may think he was given this task too.

There was no angel. The wise men were Magus (Zoroastrian Priests) from Persia, who were into astronomy. According to their holy book, Avesta, a certain occurrence in the Sky will reveal the birth of the second "Sooshians" (Savior). In Zoroastrianism there are 3 "Soooshians" who will come before the earth ends. Jesus was the second, now Zoroastrians are awaiting the arrival of the 3rd.

The men from the east were wise in their own thinking, not from any divine inspiration.
We know this because they were astrologers which was strictly forbidden in the mosaic law.
Because of their information submitted to King Herod hundreds of babies were murdered. So if any Angels were involved they would be the ones that follow Satan, or maybe even Satan himself.

Satan the Devil was the one who told the wise men where to find Jesus because they had to report back to Herod who wanted to kill the baby to prevent him from being the king of the Jews.

Gabriel announced Mary's pregnancy, but he never directed them to Jesus. The so-called wise men were actually astrologers sent by Herod to find Jesus so they could then lead Herod's army to where Jesus was and have him killed. Why would God's angel lead these men there?
