Simple....it's fun. And there's a side benefit for some people (like myself) in that they enjoy helping others. I don't care about the points system or voting or thumbs-up vs. thumbs-down.....I think that's kinda stupid and leads to petty problems. I just like to visit, and I frequently pick up new tidbits of knowledge in some area of cycling (the only one I visit). :o)

Although you have a point, you really don't get anything in return apart from the pleasure of answering someone's question and solving their doubt. That in itself should really be the benifit and satisfaction you need.
Doing a good deed nowadays without reward is not common, so look on it as doing someone a favour and the reward of saying I helped out and some day the same will happen where you need help for something.
Really, it doe not matter the points, doing something for nothing does not really matter.

The benefit is being able to communicate with others on this site that enjoy the game of baseball. Many of your questions about the game can be discussed here and information you might possess can be passed on to others and everyone is the benefactor. So, welcome to the site and I hope you enjoy your time here.

Simply put, THEY -- Y!A -- get you addicted to points! I am now a point monger.... actually stated as such by M R.

It's fun to share a lifetime of knowledge. I ask when I can't figure out my own machine.

Have fun!

Just helping out others and sharing knowledge. And sometimes you learn new things along the way yourself.
