i heard on a tv network that it burns when u cook with it that u shoulfd put it on the end

Yes it can. When grilling or broiling spices are usually added at the end to prevent burning.

Salt and spices and even dried herbs can safely be put on foods before cooking (as in a spice rub, used very often in grilling or barbecue). Fresh herbs burn far more easily, so they are most often added toward the end of the cooking process. Cooking foods with black pepper on them adds flavor to the food, but it changes the taste of the pepper somewhat--so to give it a fresher pepper "zing," add a bit more freshly-ground black pepper when you are done (or just about done) cooking the food.

pepper is a plant . given enough heat of course it'll burn. actually, given enough heat,anything will burn.........or melt.
