A burnt tongue will definitely heal in time. However, you can use a few home remedies to experience effective relief from the burning sensation. Take 1 tsp of sugar and keep it on your tongue. Now, stick your tongue to the roof of your mouth and let sugar melt. Repeat this process 2 to 3 times till the burning sensation recedes. You could also suck on an ice cube till it melts. Avoid eating spicy food until your condition stabilizes, as this could worsen your situation.

I'm with SauceyRose2001, burning your tounge does suck, but it will go away with time. You won't be able to tast much for a while but DRINK SOME COOL (NOT COLD) WATER and give it time. You'll feel better in time.

I think you should just leave it alone, you don't need to put anything on it, just stay away from anything hot or spicey for now, your tongue will get better on it's own.

Seriously - put sugar on it, and let it slowly dissolve - I don't know why this works, or where I first learned it, but it always has worked for me!
