Is there anything that I can do to help ?

I've had them for 7 years and it was only lately they have started to go scared of me. They also open their beaks and look mean too.

Is it because of jealousy? I am starting to hang around my dogs (coz I got them recently) more. Would that be the case?

You need to balance out the amount of time you spend with your dogs and the amount of time you spend with your birds. Can they see you playing with the dogs? If so, they're behaviour is probably caused by jelousy, and weariness. Try spending more time with them - talk to them regularly and get them to become used to you again. Find a good medium.

We have 2 Cockatiels also. Talk to them in a soft voice by name. do not startle them. When they come to the side of the cage, put your hand,or face & talk quietly. If they will, open the cage door and put yourindex finger towards them (at theirbreast) and some will come on your finger - have to start this when they are young.

cocatiels are naturally scared of humans. I have had mine for televen years and it still doesnt fully trust me. i suggest that you wistle to it , sing to it and spend some more quality time with it. the bird will soon warm up to you

I don't know how long you have had them but it takes time for them to comfortable with different people around them. Treat them gently. put them in a room that there are not that many people except you. then when they are ok with you put them where there are more people. if you have a bigger pet, or little brother or sister you might what to keep them away for some time.

It will take time for them to build up their confidence. It took my bird about a year to like me and even after 12 years he's still timid. Its all to do with up bringing and iof they are hand trained. MY bird will come onto your hand but he hates fingers. He was a rescue bird so I think he used to be poked and picked on

Hmm.. If you got them recently, try talking to them in a calm way
and sing to them. They are probably just getting used to you. It will take some time before they can trust you.

You have beady, close set eyes and you are larger than them. They feel threatened because many your age would torment them.Talk nice to them, allow them to trust you;and be prepared for bites if you don't measure up or startle them.

they are probably scared of you because you probably did not raise them since they were babies or you come towards them making loud noises it is easier for them to like you if you only have one so that it would only concentrate on you when there are two of them usually ignore you and think you are something that wants to eat them

if they are new then its just because of the big difference of their house and owner.get them used to your voice and scent before trying to lift them or you will just scare them more
