MUTTLEY CREW,
Unsoliticed advertisements. Turning the volume down directly inconveniencing of my lifestyle.

That pause button . . . they wanted us to opt for hitting the pause button every single time we change the page we are on?

What kind of horrible idea is that? If they defaulted to pause it wouldn't be so bad!

Yes I certain that many people have complained to Yahoo and Gap about those ads. yet nothing is being done about them. Which means that you need to take cation, like myself and a few other people have and it is a peaceful solution.

Download FireFox web browser after installing it. get the extension called AdBlock Plus, restart FireFox, click on the tab that is above the ad and BAM! no more ad

Great example of doing something because you can instead of because it's a good idea. Personally, I hate all Web sites that have sound play automatically be it in an ad or in the page itself. Some advertising "genius" decided that using sound in Web advertising would get more attention...it does, but not the kind of attention they want.

Perhaps on some sites audio advertising isn't a bad idea...for example, the ads they play when I watch videos on Yahoo! music...don't have a problem with that since I've clearly indicated that I'm interested in hearing something and I don't mind them using video ads to pay for the service. ...but on informational sites or sites that don't otherwise already involve sound, audio ads are intrusive and unwelcome...not at all unlike telemarketing.

From a marketing perspective, I think the issue is compatibility...those Gap ads just aren't compatible with the way people use Y!A (esp. the way they keep reloading every time I change pages)...I think they would work on Yahoo! Games or even on the Yahoo! Music pages...but on Y!A, they should stick to targeted, sound-free ads.

I sure hope so, there has been so much hubbub about it. I don't like to mute my speakers either, I am listening to music through my computer. I don't like to press the pause button, because sometimes, if you don't get it just right, it opens a Gap pop up! Arrrggg!

So, I do this: Go to the bottom, click on Australia and voila! no more Gap ad! And all the same questions and answers!!

They must know, because I have seen questions like this in just about every section I go to... of course the only places I go regularly are Polls & Surveys, R&S, and Home Schooling. But if its all over there, its probably all over everywhere.

And I agree about the pause button, its deceptive to have a pause button take you to another page.

My mute button is on know, and my music is playing on my CD player.

Apparently not. It might not be so bad if I didn't hear the same video every time I click on a question and have to click on that pause button every time.

Advertising dollars make the website possible.

No money, no YA!

No YA!, no YA! fascist moderators.

Maybe we need to complain about advertising and demand that Yahoo foot the bill themselves just to eliminate the YA! fascist moderators.

PS: I turn off my volume on Yahoo websites. It means I have to listen to a different computer for my music, but, I also miss out on all the dumb sounds attached to the operating system.

I hate it, that's for sure.
I can't stand the current trend in advertisements that make them so obnoxious and irritating. I will NEVER buy some products because of their sickening ads.
