Both are important to God. Read a King James version of The Bible. Get to know God personally. He made your soul.
Your robes in Heaven will be woven from your righteous acts.
The first commandment is: I am the Lord, your God. Put no other gods before me. You will find that in the book of Exodus, where God gave Moses The Ten Commandments.
May God bless you.

God calls us to do the things that we can do according to the wisdom and skills that He has given us and He calls us to pray to Him to do the things that we cannot do. It's a partnership between God and man to accomplish His will here on earth.
Ephesians 2:10 For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
James 5:17 Elijah was a man just like us. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. 18 Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops.

he wants both, but they do not coincide with each other, we need to show people His love by our actions, but we also need to have a close relationship with Him by spending time in prayer and study of His word. The two are separate, and it does say in the Bible that faith without works is empty.

Yep just ask Abraham for a lend of his knife so you can kill and make sacrifice to your preference what ever that may be and then eat your sacrifice instead of praying. So if this works you can come back and tell us all about it. Well maybe so and I collect 2 points when I go past Go.

It is narrated by ‘Umar bin Khattaab (RA) that the messenger Muhammad (SAW) said: ‘Action is based upon the intention…the intention cannot be separated from action.’ (Muslim)

I have always felt that God simply reacts to our actions.
Not to say I don't pray for guidance, but I don't expect God to go out and plow the field for me either.
