It's no secret; everyone knows that Jesus wasn't born on December 25th.
However, April 17th is one of the other five suggested days. No one is certain.

We do know it was indeed not December 25th, or else Mary would've frozen, all the sheep would be put away in a barn for the winter or already lamb chops, and the shepard boys would take the wintertime to study since they can't work. It would have to have been Spring or Summer

The date December 25th traces back to the pagan tradition of Winter Solstice.

December 25th IS Santa Day, but no one truly knows when Jesus was born! We don't even know the right year! What's your point?

No one actually knows Jesus' birthdate. Some say it was in the fall.

All we know is that he wasn't born in the winter, because the shepherds were tending their flocks out in the fields. In the winter, they would be in the barns.

THe December 25th date comes from the birthdate of the Pagan god Mithros, which the Catholic church adopted in about 325 A.D. to make people more readily adopt the religion. Hence Christmas ('christ- mass').

If the 17th is the birth of the Lord, I don't know or care. For it is not his birth that has given me eternal life.

As for the pagan holiday practiced on the 25th of Dec., here is who I believe this represents.

If you move the letters around in santa, you get satan.

LOL....good try, but you are wrong and we all know it. Jesus was probably born in September or October, but no one really knows the exact date, especially you.
