Rankobud,
There is no God, so he can't do whatever he wants. For the same reason that parents cannot put their child in danger. I reject the notion that an omnipotent, supposedly benevolent God can make my life a tragedy if he wants to just because he gave me life. My parents gave me life, but if they tried to take it, there would be a fight.
I didn't ask to be here, and whoever creates something has a responsibility to it. Tell that to the millions of children who starve to death or are sold into sexual slavery every year.
Middle.C
Actually, El C, this girl has the right idea. The laws we have now don't apply. We should only apply the laws known back then.
God should be stoned to death...in public.
Yeah, Mary. Suuuuuuuuure you were a virgin.
Moe
You misspelled Mary, and since it is a name, it should be capitalized.
You shouldn't be so quick to call people dumb@sses.
But Moe is right, El C. SHe wasn't quite married at the time the Holy Ghost slipped her that Mickey. Therefore, she must be stoned to death. Twice, since the Holy Ghost wasn't married to her when she was impregnated.
Suuuuuuure you two didn't have sex. Tell it to Maury Povich.
ReeRee
You should answer questions. Give up your own 5 points if you have your own to ask.
Don't you dare give her any points, El C. I don't know if you celebrate Christmas, but I do. I like to give and receive presents. If you celebrate it as well, then apparently, through the thick anf foggy lenses of Fundies, we are hypocrites. If we don't, then we are Heathens.
Hey, ReeRee, did you know that the entirety of Christmas was stolen from Pagan Holidays. Jesus, assuming he even existed, wasn't born on December 25th. But Mithra was. Christmas, your special Jesus Day, sanctified by a nation supposedly build around your Cloud Fairy, wasn't even recognized as a holiday until 1870. The Puritans, Protestants, and the Quakers were all adamantly opposed to it, because IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH CHRIST OR THE JUDAIC GOD!!!

No. She didn't consent. One has to be offered a choice to be able to give consent. In those days, based on records of marriages, most women married before they turned 13, and those marriages were arranged by the parents. I'm fairly certain her parents weren't advised that God was about to knock up their daughter.
Luke 1:
29Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. 30But the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. 31You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. 32He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High.
This isn't an offer. It was a demand, and although Mary said it was OK, that is a far cry from being asked if it was OK.
J€§§i©aW,
She was never asked for her permission. She was told how it would be. And if it was God's will, hers wouldn't matter. That's NOT asking permission.
I swear, some of you should read that little book of fairy tales before you decide to believe it.
Yes. The fundies are out in force.

Remember that Jesus prayed to G-d in order that the information of his apostles be multiplied to grasp the historical testomony. While the brand new testomony instances was once simply commencing. Always pray in Christ's identify earlier than studying the bible so that you are going to have holy spirit led information. This will support your information in lots of elements of finding out. The holy spirit will direct you to extra passages and educate you supernaturally. Ask others to hope that the Lord will support you realize the bible greater.

First off, according to the story of the Immaculate Conception, God sent an angel to Mary. He told her of God's intent and ASKED HER PERMISSION. Under Hebrew law, she was already betrothed to Joseph (not quite married). Under Hebrew law, she was of legal age to marry, as they did in Bethlehem. Besides, it wouldn't have been statutory rape since no sexual intercourse occured. Remember, Mary was a virgin.

Boy if you read and studied the bible that well you would be a great witness to the lost and dying world. however get away from the lies of that man made movie. Which infact was not inspired to be written by God as the bible was. Also do you celebrate Christmas- if so why celebrate someones birthday you havn't even received as your Savior. who was born on earth and died to take away the sins of the world to restore us back to Him.

She did consent. Read it again. There was no sex act. The Holy Spirit , by unknown means but not by sex , placed the child into the womb. She was older than 14.

No. This was a divine purpose and God did it the way it should be and I don't question it I believe he was in the right who am i to disagree with how he works . This to me cannot in any way be compared to what happens in today's society. i think that was a bold question and i would have never thought of it.
