It depends on what you want to do. Some people get a good paying job without going to college. Some people get degrees and make lousy money or can't even get a job.

I definitely had to go to college, I had dropped out and went through a string of low paid jobs that I hated. Now I have a pretty good job. But, to be honest with you, the money isn't that great. Some people who don't have degrees make more money than I do.

At this point in life, though, I am reasonably satisfied--I make enough to live in a way that I like.

But if you don't go to college, it's really better if you have talent in some kind of useful craft--carpentry, auto repair, cooking or whatever.

No it's not bad you don't want to got to college. But as a parent...it isn't the wise way to go. Unless of course you are some kind of savant when it comes to computer tech. You aren't going to be able to provide for yourself very well. (Much less any family you may one day have.) Even if you don't go to traditional college I would recomend that you at the very least get a certificate of some sort from a trade school...that will help you keep yourself afloat.

No it is not bad. College is not for everyone. About 1/3 of the college students drop out in two years or less.

not necessarily right now it is not bad.
but when you get older and realize that you could be done with all of your schooling, and instead you have to go start it, you may be sorry.
