Throw a dog biscuit outside the house, when they run after it, lock the door behind them! / No, seriously ask them for a little privacy, they should understand and comply. MERRY CHRISTMAS --IC

Just ask them if they would mind giving you two a few minutes of privacy. Ask them to go hang in the kitchen and you'll come get them when you're done. I'm sure they'll understand and do as you request. Just be super respectful when you ask them.

Let him in the house, tell your parents he has arrived. After pleasantries, excuse yourself and go out the house. They've been kids too, they understand that you need a little privacy. By stepping outside, you assure them that you are not about to do anything risque but you will also have privacy from them.

Um, get your gift OUTSIDE or while you are on a date. You can't tell your parents to leave the room - it's their house! You can ask them nicely if they don't mind leaving the 2 of you alone for a few minutes while you get your gift - but they don't have to honor your request.

Why don't you just explain the situation and ask them for a few minutes of privacy? I have children that are older and would certainly respect that. Good luck!
